Veneers work by bonding an extremely thin shell to the surface of the tooth and enhancing its appearance. The Veneers are custom made in a specialised dental laboratory to ensure the ideal fit and colour.
In cosmetic dentistry, dental veneers are commonly used to cover crooked teeth, close gaps between teeth, and fix the appearance of crooked teeth.
Quality Materials
Typically, veneers are made from porcelain or composite resin, and each material has its own unique characteristics.
Veneers made from porcelain are strong and durable. The non-porous nature of porcelain prevents staining; however, if it does break, it can be difficult to repair. For those who desire a more natural-looking smile, composite veneers may be preferred because of their more realistic qualities. Composite veneers are easy to repair most of the time.
Caring for your long-term smile
Bonding materials for veneers are safe for your natural teeth. The treatment plan is unique to each patient. It is sometimes necessary to remove a sliver of the enamel to make space for a veneer. We will discuss this in detail with you at your first consultation.
Veneers are not permanent, but if treated with consideration and care, they should last between seven and fifteen years.
